What is Swedish massage

A stimulating and relaxing  body massage that originated in Sweden . Swedish body massage is the original massage technique involving a sequence of movements working deep and superficially  into the  layers of tissue.bigstockphoto_Deep_Work_1408123

Swedish Massage uses five basic  techniques: effleurage (gliding, sweeping), petrissage (kneading, rolling, wringing), friction (warming), tapotement (percussion) and vibration (trembling).

Effleurage  which consists of long, gliding, sweeping strokes and Frictions to warm the muscles and work deeply into the tissues which will help relieve tension and pain. A deeply relaxing massage  which can help with the build up of tension that is caused by begin sat at a desk  or computer for long periods of time , going to the gym more that twice a week playing sport or the general build up of stress from daily life.

The petrissage techniques  is the use of kneading, rolling, wringing and lifting strokes, which help free up knotted and bound muscles and soft tissue, stimulate nerve endings, and aid in increasing circulation, that in turn promotes cell repair and regeneration. promoting deep relaxation in the tissues and muscles  so leaving you feeling deeply relaxed and stimulated .

Tapotement are percussion strokes that rhythmically stimulates nerves, muscles, and circulation. these stroke often signal the end  of a section of massage. so that the client can then change position.

This body massage  will be adapted to a client’s needs, as no two people are alike,
